My Husband Rocks.

Plain and Simple.

I ask for a computer and looked what he made me.

We are huge Graphic 45 and Tim Holtz fans....can you tell?

This was my husband's first project.

I think he rocked.

We had a fabulous time creating a super easy and stunning wreath.

I love that you get big WOW with this project and it just cost so little!!

Ingredients:

Unbleached Coffee Filters

Hot Glue Gun

Foam Wreath

Ribbon

Ink (if you want to ink the edges like the autumn one)

You need to start with unbleached coffee filters. ( My pack came with 100 and I used about 70)

You will also need a ring. I have seen rounded foam ones used although these were super cheap and worked fabulous.

Take your coffee filter.

Open it up and fold it in half the opposite way of how it was cup shaped.

Now just scrunch it up.

Glue (I used hot glue) or pin it into the wreath.

Repeat again and again....you just build it upon itself.

Here a sample of mine.

It's getting there....halfway done. Don't forget to add ribbon for hanging!!

The bow, dangling ribbon and badge were all added when the wreath was complete.

The Autumn Harvest one! I inked the edges of this one with Chocolate Chip ink.

Easy Peasy....Anyone can do this!!!!

A fellow demo has a group that wanted to make a Twilight themed card. I couldn't wait to play around with what is my version of a simple yet Team Edward card.

Here is the inside of the card. You could also use this as a front image too.

I just love how our satin ribbon adds just the right touch with a simple elegance.

And it is not easy to see....but the spots are touches of our brand new smooch spritz.

It wouldn't be a Team Edward card without some shimmer/glitter. :)

Daytime Divas are coming to "My Pink Pajamas"

Sorry that things have been fairly quiet on here lately but I have been busy behind the scenes prepping and planning for the next several months.

Our first big announcement is that there is now a new event at the Pink PJ Studio.

The Daytime Divas event is here!!

Which kind of Diva are you?

Are you a "Scrappin" Diva?

The second Wednesday of each month is dedicated to our scrapbooking "Daytime Divas" with a special double page layout designed exclusively for them. Kits will be available to those who register in advance for the price of $5.

You are welcome to bring any other scrapbooking projects to work on as well and stay for the entire time.

Are you a "MakeUp" Diva?

Nope...Not talking about MAC, although we all know I have a slight obsession. :)

The 4th Wednesday of the month will be dedicated to the Divas that are not able to make Stamp Camp on Friday nights. This will be a shoebox style event and there will be four projects available for the price of $10. These will be the same projects that will have been offered at Stamp Camp.

Light snacks will be provided and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Registration is required to obtain a kit but no purchase is necessary to attend. That's right...you can bring your own work and fellowship for FREEEEEEE!

I cannot believe that it has taken me so long to play with

the SIMPLY SCRAPPIN' kit...........Tailor Made!!

I absolutely love it. It can be feminine as well as masculine and can go with so many of our stamp sets. I used Sense of Time as well as Great Friend. I also used our Silver HODGEPODGE set, BROWN CORDUORY brads, Hemp twine, kraft ribbon and SILVER paperclip as well as a few other items. You will find all of these in my shop...I hope that you want to create some pages too.

Joining Hope's Stamp Camp Share!

Hope Keene, a fellow SU demo, asked us to share what we do for stamp camps. SO...although these pictures were taken last year, things haven't changed that much around here. :)

Without further blah, blah, blah...here is my SHARE to that request!!!!

What Is A Stamp Camp?

Stamp camp here is a night filled with crafty projects (normally 2 cards, 1 project and 1 12x12 scrapbook page), fun fellowship with friends, swaps, yummy snacks and door prizes.

I run mine open house style with a set time for swaps at 8:15. My campers are welcome to come when they can and stay late as well.

Here is our snack table with my front door open just for you!

Dining room prepped for two projects.

At my home, we rotate tables as there are roughly 12-18

campers that attend on a regular basis.

This is my front room set up with two more tables. Once again, one project per table.

Side table has samples of projects to look at inbetween changes.

Remember that open front door? You can see it here on the right of the photograph.
This is my design studio. It is so great to have it right where I need it!!
On Open Night (A free event where you can bring the project you want to work on and use my home and tables) the ladies (no men yet other than hubby) can use my stamp sets and Big Shot dies as well as stamp pads, markers....you get the idea.

Awww....my punch wall. I have actually outgrown this holder but I still have it up and use it to store my more commonly used punches.

This was my card from my hubby.

My sweet valentine stole away into my studio to create a card that he knew I would just love.

I am so proud of him.

Not only is his technique improving...but he was so proud that this was his own design.

When you care enough, you create your own.

He even remembered that this was one of my favorites sets.

A fun technique for clean fingers!!

I am a very messy stamper. If I can make a project without getting ink somewhere it isn't supposed to be, I celebrate.....literally!

However, messy or not, I LOVE to create. In the process of creating, I found a solution to my sponging mess!! A large metal clip!! See...look here!

No Ink on my Fingers to transfer onto my paper!! Oh Heavenly Bliss!!
I am now going to label each one with the color name and create whole new sponging families.
Organized sponges and no messy fingers.
Oh Happy Day!

A Little Eastern Flair

This card has something for both me and my daughter Carissa. Carissa loves "Asain" people. She finds them fascinatingly beautiful. The more Eastern the better for her too. When she saw this card, you would've thought she was handed tickets to go abroad.

I love the faux silk technique. Maybe because it is the technique that has gotten away from me or it could be the beauty of the texture that it holds. Either way, this card exemplifies the best of both beauty and technique to me.

Sheryl Brown was the creative talent behind this beautiful card.

Kinda makes you wonder what else this talented lady has in her Creative Corner, doesn't it?

Cricket's Swap part 2

I love Swaps! Every one that I have joined has been different and enjoyable. Cricket's swap had a new challenge. We were to use only a new set from our Fabulous 2009-10 Idea Book and Catalog. And then we had to make 100 of them! The cards that I received back were stunning and every single one held something different to showcase. Deb Valder created this elegant card. She also used the texturz plate to create a completely different effect. I love how clean and pretty this card comes across. I thought that is was a perfect example on how something doesn't have to be super busy to be elegant and stunning.

This card so makes me want to get back to the beach. I love the colors that were used here. This is a perfect teen card as well as my teens raved about it. Kelli Needham spent quite a bit of time on this baby. The "Surf's Up" saying was printed out in matching SU colors. (Did you know that you can set your printers to match SU's colors? Holy Moly! I couldn't believe the amout of work that Christie Hagerhjelm put into her card. Between the punches, cutting, ribbon, googlie eyes and embossing...this card was above and beyond. This is one that you just have to enlarge to see all the elements. I can't think of one thing that she didn't incorporate. :) Way to go Christie!! I love our new Specialty paper. Here is a card by Carol Stelzer-Wheaton that brings them together in a clean and classic layout. She used the Together Forever, the new Wedding Sweet and Monogram Sweet. New, new and new! I love it!

Okay, here is another one that stood out! This one was created by Shelly May. This was another one that my girls and I oogled over together. What you need to see (beyond her fabulous color choices) is the turtle's shell. She used SU's Glossy White paper to really create a standout focal point. This wonderful card has a hidden surprise and I so wish that blogs could have a 4D effect for you to experience it. I pulled this card as one of my favorites because I loved the clean and yet warm effect that this card has. Barb Coblentz really put some thought into this one. Every layer has something from her use of texture and sanding to paper piercing and sponging. When I pulled it out of the protective envelope, I found a wonder Lavender aroma coming with it. Yes! She used our Scallop Envelope die and filled it with some lavender in it. Talk about some relaxing yummy goodness!

This card, created by Tammy Mullins, was one of my first favorites. I love nature sets and her twist on this one just made me smile. Don't you just love happy cards?? So do my stampers as they have pulled and commented on this one alot too.

100 card swap with Cricket~ Part 1

I recently joined a 100 card swap and was absolutely delighted with the cards I received upon return. I will hopefully be showing you some of them as soon as I get permission from the creators. Until then, I thought that I would share my card from the swap with you.

This is one of our new sets and one that has given me a bit of creative block when using it. When I find a set like this, I push myself to make 3 things with it that I love. Before I knew it, I was finding more and more uses for this set. This card was the one that was submitted for the swap and I was actually kinda pleased to find out that no one else had used this set. I hope that I was able to provide a card that my fellow demos would be able use as an idea.

Hi Everyone!

Ok...so just so that you know. I took some fantastic pictures today while I was out and about today. Unfortunately, my roomie is sleeping as I am typing this and I don't want to wake her with trying to find my camera cable to upload. But know, I will try and get them on here so that you can see.

I also had a great night tonight on my first official shoebox swap. I have over 40 cards to show you from that one. They are all nice and some are just amazing. It will be neat to hear which ones you like and want to make!!

I have an early morning tomorrow with check in and momento mall, our shopping experience!! I also will get my new Stampin' Up! convention bag too. I will probably run back to the hotel and upload my pictures from the morning so you can see all the fun stuff!!

It's Convention time!!! Well, Almost!

Here are some shots from today's journey into Utah. We were on the road from Vegas at 5 am and were able to see and thoroughly enjoy a most amazing sunrise. As we drove through the gorge, I was literally speechless (and brainless as I didn't even take a picture!! Don't worry though, I am going back through that way and I am sooooo going to take some.) God has been speaking to my heart and calling me to see and enjoy the beauty around me. And boy am I ever. It isn't hard to feel close to Him when you think about the wonders of creation and the gifts he has given us.

How precious does a scrapbook page need to be?

I think that I may have found the reason why I don't get very many pages done. I found this fabulous paper rose tutorial created by Abi Bundy. (click here) It gave me the look I was striving for...a very precious "pop" for a Tinkerbell page. I will post the completed page when it is finished. But in the meantime I wanted to show you what consumed my time at our last open night. It took me a couple of tries to get the roses to look the way I wanted but once you get the hang of it, watch out...you'll be putting roses everywhere. The roses dried firm and do not crunch under pressure. I would protect them though if you are mailing them out.

So, this got me thinking....what is the most artistic or time consuming or "I just lost my mind on this" project that you have created? I know that I am not the only one out there that likes to create that "just perfect" project. :)

Father's Day Recap

Well, It has been a little while since I have been able to post. How are you liking the new site? I am just loving it and after a few more tweaks, I think that it will be complete. Yippeeeee!! It is time to get back into the swing of things. I had a most fabulous week with Jeanna and her family. I went out there with a plan to be ultra productive and yeah....we had way too much fun playing and enjoying our new friends. I have a refreshing trip and I really enjoyed the drive with my older girls. We are talking about having an annual girls road trip. I wonder where the girls will want to go next year.

I thought that I would get this week started with a quick post of what I did yesterday for the Dads in my life. This is the card that I made for my husband, my dad, my father in law and my brothers. I was amazed at how ultra easy this was to make. I orginally saw the idea over on Splitcoast although I don't know what card started the whole thing. There is even a template for it over there as well, just in case you are interested :)

Meghan is Miss May!!!

My friend Jeanna runs a fabulous card swap over on Stamp Time Somewhere and started choosing card to feature once a month. I was so excited to find out that Meghan (this was her first swap ever!!) won the Miss May title. THe original post is here. This is what Jeanna posted about Meghan. And for those of you who don't know Meghan she is my second oldest. She also works at my Stamp Camps (she rules the Big Shot).

This was a hard decision for me. I had two swappers in mind. Although I know that the other swapper that I did not choose this month would have probably agreed with me. So I am still wanting to feature her later this week. Without further ado, I'd like to introduce to you:

My challenge for myself was to catch up on the HUGE tech wave that is rocking the craft world. Blogging has gone crazy. Everyone I know blogs, visits blogs or even has a grandma who blogs...the list goes on. One step that I am working on is to bring you video tutorials, which would condense down the amount you would have to read as well as getting a chance to "SEE" what I am doing. Fifth Avenue Trifold tutorial

Inspire, Create, Share.....Sharing my stuff the Stampin' Up! Way

Fifth Avenue Floral Tri~Fold Card
Tutorial

Directions to make one Card
Measurements for cutting:
One piece cut at 6”x12”

Score lines:
Along the length score at
4” and at 8 1/16”
You want the outside flap to close over the inside flap smoothly.

Directions:

Fold your card so that the right flap lies inside and the left flap lies on top.
Take your Left (Top) flap and line it up with the Manhattan Folder so that the fold in the card lines up with the edge of the design.

Run through the Big Shot. Take note of the direction of the folder. Your arrow should be up. I ran mine through sideways, completely open.

Now do the same thing to the opposite side, only moving the folder not the cardstock.

Take note again the folder is now flipped. The arrow is underneath but still pointing upwards.

Now you have one embossed and one in-bossed side.
Cut edges of the roses, removing the cardstock that is not embossed. Cut up to the fold line and the continue up the fold line.

TahDah!

Now you can add an insert to the center. I did round the corners on my sample.

Okay ladies, this is just a fun post. My brother Caleb came by to pick up one of my girls and Meghan had left some of her stuff on the table. Before you knew it, he was picking up punches and trying them out and asking for adhesive (He loved the dimensionals by the way.) and just playing around. SO although his artwork was very primitive, I just loved having him over playing. I don't think I will get any more arguements about having my sister in law come and play as long as he gets to come too.

STAMP SET: Cheers to You
PAPER: Whisper White, More Mustard, Not Quite Navy
INK: Stazon, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Bashful Blue,
ACCESSORIES:Aquapainter, Crystal Effects, pop up glue dots, heating tool
TECHNIQUE: Watercolor, Froth

How to make the Froth:
Mix equal parts of salt, flour and water. Mix dry ingredients thoroughly together. Add water. You want to end up with a thick glue paste. If you want to add color to mixture, now is the time. I dropped a couple of drops of white craft ink. Place your mixture in to area you want it to be. Using your heat tool, heat up your mixture. It will turn a slight shade different and then start to bubble up. I allow mine to completely bubble up. It took about 25-30 seconds. When the top images are done, I went and heated up the back for about 6-7 seconds. The top of the froth will continue to harden as it cools.

This shot is to show you the Crystal Effects on the mugs of beer. It was just an additional step and I love how it turned out!

All products were 100% Stampin' Up except for the Froth :)

May Stamp Camp projects

***Kit Holders*** Your ribbon is going to be TIGHT to wrap and tie. We demonstrated how to tie the knot in the ribbon and then cut it in half. We then adhered the ends to the backside of the cardstock. Sorry if I forgot to mention that sooner.

SOFT SUMMER WATERCOLOR CRAYON CARD
STAMP SET: Soft Summer Occasions stamp set
PAPER: Riding Hood Red, Confetti
INK: Riding Hood Red, Sage Shadow
ACCESSORIES: Scallop Eyelet punch, Watercolor crayons (ruby red, chocolate chip and old olive)
TECHNIQUE: (Mist the stamp with water. Color directly onto the rubber. Spritz again when finished and stamp onto paper)

I used the watercolor technique (listed above) and 2 step stamped the focal point image. Set aside to dry. In the meantime, I stamped the front of the card with the "watercolor" looking floral image on the bottome of the card. I then cut and folded over 1 1/4 inch of the top of the card. I ran the edge through the scallop edge punch. I matted the watercolored confettin image onto the sage shadow box and centered on the front of the card. I then added the ribbon and adhered the flap down. The insert was merely another piece of confetti white paper and another floral image stamped on the top left and bottom right corners of the card. Sentiment was stamped in Sage Shadow.

This is our first time adding a scrapbook page to our Stamp Camp. I think that everyone loved the addition. Here is how it went together. On the Brocade Blue 12x12 page, I first randomly stamped the butterfly image with the Brocade ink. I then rolled the Friends wheel (with Brocade ink) using the Stampin' Around ruler. My next layer was the strip of Night of Navy with the Whisper White scalloped edge adhered under it. I then layed out the picture on the left with the tags and Top Note journaling box on top of the Night of Navy ribbon on the right. The Top Note box as well as the title tag are stamped with the stem image from the friends set in Bashful Blue. For a final element, I stamped (with Bashful Blue ink) and cut three butterflies out of Whisper White paper. I Just placed them where I felt they would go the best. A big THANK YOU goes to Dawn for letting me use a photo of her little blue-eyed beauty!!

MANHATTAN FOLDER SAND & BRAYER CARD
STAMP SET: All Holidays
PAPER:Whisper White, Regal Rose, Vellum, Chocolate Chip
INK:Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink
ACCESSORIES: Brayer, brad, punch, Taffeta Ribbon, sanding blocks
BIG SHOT: Manhattan Folder, embosslit
TECHNIQUE: (Brayer ink onto White Cardstock creating a white core that you can sand.)

If you don't know by now, you know that I el ooo veee eee (LOVE) our Manhattan Folder! I just can't get enough! I could resist adding this one to our Stamp Camp just for the fun technique of Brayering and Sanding. Yes, the lightbulb moment that clicked for me. I totally forgot that we could create the white core on our cardstock just by simply brayering the top in a different color.

This card was brayered in Pretty in Pink and then run through the Big Shot with the Manhattan Folder. I then sanded the top of the embossed image, allowing the white cardstock core to show through. I then layer the top of the card with the vellum embosslit flower and Regal Rose scalloped border.

GOOD MORNING CHEEP TALK! GIFT CARD HOLDER
STAMP SET: Cheep Talk
PAPER: Good Morning Sunshine DSP, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
INK: Kiwi Kiss, YoYo Yellow, Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES: Punches-tag large and small, small oval and single ribbon. Satin ribbon

This gift card holder set is so easy peasy! You gotta love it. Here is the front view. Just a tag punch label attached with our Kiwi Satin Ribbon.

Inside view. This is created by taking a 6x6 inch square and folding it in half on the diagonal. Then you open it and bring the other two sides into the center. Fold and close. Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!! You could just put in a gift card at this point but I liked having just a little bit more telling why this is for them. The insert is stamped with the same colors on the Whisper White and then matted on the Kiwi Kiss.

PARISAN BREEZE NOTE CARD HOLDER
Stamp Set: Watercolor Vine Wheel, Matchbox Messages
Ink: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Baja Breeze, chocolate chip, Parisan Breeze DSP, Whisper White

This project is a lot of fun. It goes together really easy just remember to use Sticky Tape so that what you attach to the textured DSP.
First, Lay ribbon out and adhere with snail adhesive. Don't worry about sticking long term. It is just to hold it while you put the binding on. Apply the binding to the center. I only use adhesive on the outside scalloped edges to allow better opening/closing of the Note Card holder.

This is what it should look like closed. If you have a kit from me, you actually have an addition scallop set that you can place on the front here.

Fold the note card holder on the score lines and once again, using sticky strip, adhere to the inside. I placed mine about 1/4 inch from the bottom.

This is what it should look like when the envelope holder and the note card holder are filled.

Here is a my sample of note cards that I made. Feel free to change and alter whatever you desire.

Del Mar Quilt Show and the Big Shot!!

I was so excited to find out that my "upline" was demonstrating how to use the Big Shot in quilting at the Del Mar Fair. I came away with some fantastic ideas. Boy, this machine can do anything. It never ceases to amaze me. I see future quilts, bags, banners....oh the things I can do! It should be a fun sewing week at my house. If you would like to see this baby in action, you know what to do. Just let me know. :)

Here is Jill demonstrating the Big Shot. She had a few samples of her work up behind her. A couple of quilts, made up from a pattern that she created, as well as a quilted tabletop that I didn't get a picture of hung on the walls behind her.

Okay Ladies...see the celebrate banner behind her. Yeah, it says welcome on the other side. Hello! All my welcome banners now will have a dual use. Welcome and celebrate. Now the other side of my designer paper can get used too!! Yipee! Now, if you are making this banner from fabric, you would just basically make two banners and attach them together. It is nice because it actually adds a little more stabilization to it.

Here is a square that was made from the 3D star Big Shot die.

Another square made from the star only the star is inverted. It was also made with the oval scallop for the leaves.

Full inverted star flower with scallop circle die for the center.

I hope that this inspires you just as it inspired me!

Okay! Well, if you can't tell, I am having a little IT difficulties. Now, you might think that being married to an IT man that I might not have much problem in this department. Alas, woe is me! My little computer here is just not high on the "I am home from work and I don't want to work on computers" list. So I am sorry for the late notice and gap in communication from me. I am finally up and running (after another glitch) and hope that you were able to enjoy some of the new blogs that I posted for you to enjoy.

Soooo, what's Shakin'? My joint! That's right...It's Stamp Camp time again! I hope to see all of your lovely and smiling faces on Friday night. It should be a blast and I can't wait to see all of you. FYI: We will be making a watercolor crayon card, a Manhattan flower "brayer & Sand" card, a gift card holder, a 3x3 note card holder (with 3 note cards and envelopes) and....drum roll please......a 12x12 scrapbook page. I hope that each of you had a marvelous and restful Mother's Day yesterday. Mine was absolutely lovely and low key. I haven't had one of those in a long time. The kids "surprised" me with an annual Breakfast in Bed and homemade cards. My older kids all went above on their cards and really tried to do their best. I have to tell you, I was really impressed. Even Daddio got involved and created his first SU card for me. Needless to say....I was so blessed that they made me something that they knew would make my mommy heart happy, not to mention my stampin' heart too. :)

There is so much that our Mini Occasions Catalog has to offer. Stampin' Up! is known for their product integration as well as their ink and paper colors. This Mini Catalog is no exception. The stamps coordinate so well with the Big Shot dies. So much thought has been put into this. You truly feel that you are getting a Big Bang for your Buck. Who doesn't want that? I have had a marvelous time with our new Matchbox die. I love all the fun drawer possibilites and I have mastered the "no adhesive" technique. Yeah ME!! That's right..these little boxes fold up with no adhesive. But just the drawer itself. Life just keeps getting easier and easier...at least with my cards. Here is a new chest made with the Matchbox die as well as the Top Note Die. I made this with my "great grandmother" upline, Natalie. I hope that you enjoy it too.

Mommy, Me and Crown City Tea

Today I took one of my daughters to her first tea. We went to one of my all time favorite towns....Coronado! I LOVE that town. It is full of beautiful houses, wonderful shops and of course, the famous Hotel Del Coronado. We had an absolutely delightful time and Katee learned some very valuable lessons. She is now extremely thankful that she wasn't born in the Victorian Era, tea is very yummy with 4 lumps of sugar and cream and not everyone supplies premium drinking water for my water snob. The Tea room was brimming full with antiques, beautiful tea sets and trinkets and baubbles. Art work adorned the wall, framed ornately. Porcelain dolls, mirrors and gawgeous chandliers! It was truly the afternoon break that I needed.

Scratch and Sniff Technique

Happy Wednesday!

Today I thought that I would share a little something different for you. Instead of a card, I am sharing a technique with you. I especially love using this technique for fun and fruity images . So with spring in the air and summer not far behind, I am hoping that this will add some inspiration to your next project. I would love to see what you make with this!!

Scratch & Sniff

Directions:

1) Mix 1 part SUGAR-FREE* drink mix to 1-1/2 parts Clear Stampin' Emboss powder.

2) Stamp your bold image on card stock with a color that coordinates with your embossing powder mix.

3) Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamp your image a second time in VersaMark ink.

4) Pour embossing powder mix over image and heat emboss.

Tips:
If you only want to emboss a portion of your image, use a VersaMarker to ink the desired section of your stamp for step 3.

You can use Craft ink for step 2 and skip step 3.

I Know! This card is definetly not my normal colors let alone a comfort layout. But my wheels started turning during our Open Night Last Night. My dear friend Yasmin asked me about our sanding blocks and what uses we have for them. There are traditional uses like sanding the edges of paper to distress or roughing the top of an embossed image to bring out the white core from the Designer Series Paper. But have you thought of sanding our cardstock to give it a different effect? Well that is what this card does! A very subtle but distinctive effect. Our cardstock is dyed throughout so that every layer is the same color, you just lightly sand the top of the dry embossed design to make the background stand out. TaDah!!

April Stamp Camp Recap

WOW! I can't believe how fast this Stamp Camp went. It was so much fun seeing everyone that came and I missed those that weren't able to make it. We even had some new friends join us. This camp had a few of the new changes. First, we had Meghan stationed at the Big Shot. This proved to be invaluable as she could offer immediate advice as I covered the other three stations. We also had our first card swap (photo above). I so enjoyed holding the artwork of my fellow stampers. I tell you no one appreciates more the work that goes into a card than another stamper. There were more people that watched the process and are now excited to join the next one. Yes, there is another swap coming up. This one is freestyle. Create your card the way you want with no limitations!! I hope that you enjoyed yourself if you came. If you didn't come, you were missed. I love my sister! Not that we don't all love our siblings, but when you have 5 brothers between the two of you there is something special that happens. I have had the blessing of seeing her grow up, from little girl to adult that she is today. There are 15 years between us which had given way to me not always being able to be a part of her life. The age span has been a challenge to find common things to do together. The brothers have their own little group that we don't get to be a part of, so we have had to band and form our own. She got me hooked on MAC...my pocketbook has never forgiven her. I am breaking her into the world of stamping and paper art. We just recently had a little time together to whip up a card that she loved and I actually had all the supplies to create. So, to the little girl that cried at my wedding and coined the phrase "How Rude" before it was popular.....I love you!!

My ReDesigned Studio Space

I think we all need someplace that brings us a feeling of warmth and inspiration. When recreating my space, I focused on what made me feel good. I love our Bella Rose line. My walls are pretty close to a Barely Banana color and I am using Riding Hood red, white and Pink for accent colors. My space still needs some work and I have plans for some further touches but now I have a space that is more than a functioning office, it is truly a retreat for me to create. And a special Hi goes to Linda and her bloggers!! Welcome and I hope you enjoy my little space. My punch storage is pictured in pics 5 and 6.

I love how this pennant banner fills my window with warmth when I come in. The last picture in this post shows how I move it to welcome my visitors into my space.

I found this Pottery Barn hutch via Craigslist one day. It was a perfect shade of Riding Hood Red and a steal at $50!! I love it when we can find a bargin. I use it as a desktop as well to allow my workspace to be just that.

I placed special treasures throughout my room. This vase holds my collection of hankies from my grandmother and great-grandmother. The box was a gift from my oldest daughter.

This little treasure came from one of my best friends Dawn (whose secret identity is my upline). When she heard that I was redesigning my space, she created these little tokens for my desktop. I don't think that she meant for me not to use them but handmade gifts are one of my absolute favorites!!
Okay Ladies....here it is! My punch storage!! It is so wonderful to have something that is functioning and yet adds to the touches in my space. With my ribbon storage, (located on the left of the bottom picture) I did plan a little further in advance this time for ribbon growth. I have two more ribbon holders that will get place under and on top of the current one as I grow and reorganize.

Here is a shot of the other side of my space. It is a little bit more organized than in the photo (I took this stamp camp night). But you can get an idea of the other side of my room. The window is were I hang my banner when I am not having an event.

Here is the entrance to my studio! Love how I left the front door open! Put a whole new spin to open house :).

A Bundle of Love from Jeanna

I have a very hard time with being an undergifter. I love to exchange gifts and have give someone above what they have given me. It takes me out of my comfort zone completely to be on the other end. So when a special someone **Hi JEANNA** made me a lovely gift, I was not only beyond words but probably would've cried my eyes out if our hubbys hadn't been there. I thought that I would share with you just a sample of what she gave me. I wish that I had taken a picture of the box so you could have to full effect.

Awww...I feel, *sniff, sniff*, so touched that she spent this much time doing this for me. And as fellow cardmakers and crafters, you can understand too. It is different when someone takes the time to make something that is just for you. Now, I won't post any of our local gals' projects without permission as I don't want hurt feelings. So please know that if you do give me something, I will ask your permission before posting your creative artwork. As for you Jeanna.....IT'S ON!!

Manhattan Love

I am so in love with the Manhattan folder. Okay, so love might be a little strong but I am really, really enjoying this new folder. I cannot begin to tell you how much fun I have had with the folder. Here is one creation from last night.

A New Look For Spring!!

Bee My Valentine...with circle scissors plus!! Tutorial

I just love the new Circle Scissors plus! It made this card an absolute breeze. Thank you for coming by to see my happy little bumblebees. When I saw that this set had three different little bumbles, I knew I wanted to make a spinning wheel card. The Circle Scissors Plus made this all possible with wonderfully clean lines. :)

Bee My Valentine Recipe:

Ingredients:
Paper: Barely Banana CS, Almost Amethyst CS, Whisper White CS, Riding Hood Red CS

Ink: Stazon Black, Markers: Blush Blossom, Bashful Blue, Almost Amethyst, Summer Sun, YoYo Yellow, Certainly Celery

Accessories: scissors, Circle Scissors Plus, Crystal Effects, Heart to Heart punch, brad, paper piercer, exacto knife, dimensionals, 1 1/4" circle punch

Directions:
Create Amethyst Card base so that it measures 5 1/2" by 4 1/4". Cut Barely Banana CS so that it measures 4" by 5 1/4". You will also need a Whisper White Cardstock square that is no smaller than 4 1/4". Center your white square with the circle cutter. You will cut a 4" circle from it. Next you will cut you Barely Banana CS with the circle cuteer. You will make two half circle cuts. You will need to make sure that your cs is centered and cut it from the halfway mark. You will make two half circle cuts. One at the 1" measurement and one at the 3".

I then bent the half circle inward and cut with my exacto knife on the fold line. Mark the center of your circle and punch a hole for your brad to slip into. Using your half moon cut out, mark your white cirle so that you will know where to keep your bees aligned. Stamp and color your bees on the Whisper White circle.

Punch your hole in your Banana cs. Make sure that your hole is aligned with the straight cut edge of the half circle.

I then roughly put the WW circle and the BB together to mark where to punch the side. Make sure you remove your circle before you punch or your dial will have a knotch in it. I then centered the Banana cs onto the Amethyst cs and continued to punch the Amethyst cs to match.

Now, before you assemble your card, stamp any other images to the Banana cs. I stamped my flower stems and saying. Time to assemble. Place your Banana cs and your circle together with the brad. Only place your adhesive UP TO THE WHEEL. Do not stick your wheel with adhesive or it won't spin. If you are adding the hearts, I had to add two dimensionals (one on either side of the spinner)so that the hearts would not catch.
Stamp, color and Crytal effect your beehive. Cut out (make sure your crystal effect is dry) and adhere with dimensionals. I centered my beehive with the 1" half circle mark, placing a dimensional directly to the brad head. I then added the flower heads that I had stamped and cut out. I also added the hearts as I spun my little cute bees around.

I hope this helps you with recreating this card. Let me know if you make one as I would love to see your rendition.

Tips for Using the Circle Scissor Plus

• The gripper base is not sized to fully grip the edges

• For best results, use with a glass mat. Glass mats allow
the blade to “float” across the cutting surface for a

smaller circle, or the center of the ring, first, and then

while you adjust the size for the outside circle of your

Getting Ready for Christmas and the New Year!!

So....I could give you a million reasons why I haven't been blogging lately but there isn't really a good one. I have been struggling with some family issues on the homefront and it has really zapped all creative energy from me. I lost motivation and desire and I just couldn't figure out what to do. But, in the quiet of the morning, God's loving presence and peace found my troubled spirit and I am resting in His hands. And although there aren't any more stamping events planned for this month, I have been busier than ever. I have been sewing for my little girls...yep, I made those cute skirts that they are wearing!! I have now made 4 more for Christmas gift and on to the last of my homemade goodies. I have a ton of new and fresh ideas and I just can't wait to get started in the new year. We have a new catalog coming out and Sale-A-Bration is just around the corner.

Meghan Smith's Fundraising Project!! Meghan is raising funds for her Pop Warner Cheer competition trip by offering a collection of Christmas Cards handmade by her. Meghan has put together a collection of 10 different Christmas cards. Meghan's Christmas Collection is available for $18.50. She has added embellishments and has spent a lot of time creating these cards, some of her own design. I am including a sneak peek at two of the cards and we will post a picture with all of the cards shortly. (Slight camera difficulties). Anyways, I really am so proud of her hard work. Okay, I haven't even worked on my own cards yet! Please let us know if you would be interested in supporting her and her fundraising project.

Katelyn's Surgery and a special card announcement

So, I don't post pictures that include me very often....okay, extinct occasions may sum it up a little better but I love this one. Katelyn had oral surgery today and she was so absolutely precious. God had her in His hands today and it so showed. She was even taking pictures today so she could have them in her scrapbook. I so love this brave little girl!!

And my daughter Meghan has been working on a very special card project. I will be announcing it on Sunday so stay tuned!! :) I am telling you, she is a SU! demonstrator in training!!
